February of 1998, my oldest daughter was diagnosed with cancer. As our family struggled to understand why this was happening and educate ourselves on our options to fight to keep her alive, I vowed that if her life were spared I would one day find a way to make a difference in the lives of those that also have experienced tragedy.
I will never forget the day that doctors told me that my precious daughter had cancer and that her life expectancy was very grim. From that day forward my journey began. As the treatment started and rounds of chemotherapy, my daughter’s immune system grew increasingly weak, and it became difficult for her to fight off a simple cold and/or infection. Because the contraction of bacteria was also life threatening, a sterile environment was imperative. I cleaned the house as often as possible. I had nothing more than an alcohol-based hand sanitizer and bleach to ensure a clean environment, however, the fumes were nauseating to her. After much frustration and research in alternative solutions my search lead me to a group of scientists and the development of a line of products that would eventually be named PRO1TEK® (PROTEK ONE).
In 2007, I started Priority Environmental Solutions, Inc. (PES), a company that provides the PRO1TEK® brand to Health care, schools, commercial and consumer markets, EMS, and many governmental agencies. PRO1TEK® uses a systematic approach to cleaning and infection control that is safe and effective for home use yet strong enough for combat. The products are made in the USA and are non-alcohol based.
The PRO1TEK® product line includes; a non-alcohol based hand sanitizer, hand and body wash products, all purpose surface sanitation and disinfectants, a range of sterile procedural mats, surface wipes, laundry and carpet, as well as space decontamination for challenging areas such as air quality and HVAC systems.
My expanding company has several new products released in 2015 to add to the original line up, one of which is an EPA registered product that will inhibit the growth of bacteria, and mold on surfaces that are both porous and non-porous for up to 90 days before the need for reapplication. In the past porous materials such as textiles and concrete presented great challenges, now we can address a surface with a product that will bond to it leaving a protective layer of defense behind.
We know from our work and testing with the US Military and EMS that the products work extremely well in environments where pathogens and bacteria thrive, so we know the products can help combat some of the everyday challenges parents of sick and healthy children, aging loved ones, and first responders come into contact with on a daily basis.
The motivation that drives me forward every day is knowing that I have the ability as president and owner of PES to change lives. It's more than just a growing business to me, because of my experience with my daughter, I am hoping that my efforts in providing great and quality products will make a difference in other people's lives. I am happy to share that my daughter is a cancer survivor. Although, the doctors told us that our daughter would more than likely never be able to have children, as you can see our second miracle Addison, both mother and daughter are healthy and happy.
It is my daughter’s dream to be able to set up a foundation to help others through the sale of these products, as well as bring new technologies into the market. Moving forward, it's not just my passion but my family's contribution to improve and make a difference in the lives of others for the second chance we have been given by creating safe and healthy products for daily living. Please see additional information about our products and what they can do for you, and help us in our journey to help others.
